ビスマルキア Bismarckia

昨日、日本人会からミッドバレーまで歩いていたら、途中でこんなのが数本植えられていました。

Yesterday, when I was walking from Japan Club to Midvalley, I found this at road side.

インターネットで調べたら、ビスマルキアと言うそうです。レア物らしい。マレーシアでは結構見かけるけどね。

It is called “Bismarckia”, according to website search. They say this plant is rare in the market... Is that so? I see this often around KL.



通信販売で小さい苗を結構売っているのですね。でも、成長したらこんなに凶暴な感じになりますよ、気をつけて下さいね。

Hummm, I understand that the small potted one is sold in many internet shopping site. But, do you know this will become so brutal look? Be careful.



この植物は見た目がとても凶暴な感じだし、近寄ったら鋭い葉で一刺しされてしまいそう。 新しい葉が出て来ていますが、これも刃物か金属棒みたいです。魔よけになりそう。

As it looks so brutal, I scare to be stabbed to death with this sharp leaves upon approach. You can see the new leaf is coming out, looks like a sword or a sharp metal bar. It could be the charm against evil spirits.



単独でも緊張するのに、こんな風に団体で植えられているので、私はめまい がしましたよ。写真撮る手が震えたです。私に悪魔が取り付いていて、反応しているのだろうか。

I feel nervous even only one. But as here are so many planted together, I almost fainted away. My hands with camera were shaking. Or I may be possessed by the demon, and this was the reaction. Hahahaha.
