大王ヤシ ロイヤルパーム Royal Palm

南国の雰囲気を表す植物のひとつはヤシの木　ですが、何だか全部似たり寄ったりで、区別がつきません。でもヤシの木って数千種類もあるそうですね。それで、インターネットで調べて、これじゃないかという名前を当てはめて紹介するのですが、細かい違いがよく分からず、名前間違えてるかもしれません。

One of the plants with tropical image is palm tree. But for me all look same. I understand there are a few thousand kinds of palm trees. So, I search internet and try to find out the name of the tree, but as all look same, the name I called here may be wrong.

これの名前は多分、大王ヤシ、ロイヤルパームですよね。KLで街路樹としてよく植えられています。Midvalleyの建物の周りに何本も植えられているのを撮ったのですが、うーん、あまりきれいじゃないな。ビルの裏の積み下ろし場の所だから、風景的に良くないかも。

This is Royal Palm, isn’t it? This is very popular along the road side.
I took these photos along Midvalley. Hummm, not so beautiful… it may be the location was in front of the loading area, far from postcard location.



Jalan Bukit Kiaraの中央分離帯はこれの並木がずーっと続いていますね。こっちはすごく綺麗。ロサンゼルスにいるかと錯覚してしまうような感じですよ。

大滝詠一や杉山清貴を流しながらカブリオレで飛ばすのが良いかも（古すぎか）。

We can find a long row of this tree along Jalan Bukit Kiara, which is planted at the centre of the road. That is very beautiful! You may have an illusion that you are in Los Angels.

Hehehe. Good location for you to drive with a cabriolet.



幹の下はこんな感じ。幹の中間が太かったりするのです。それから右側に落ちてるのは、脱皮した皮。

そう、これ脱皮するんですよ。

Yes, it does shed off skin like snake...



上から見たら、細い新芽がグングン伸びているのがわかりますか？
