ハリラヤ・オープンハウス Hari Raya Open House

What a shame..

マハティール首相の時代は、彼が首相官邸でオープンハウスを開催し、誰でも入場可能で、入場者一人一人と握手して出迎えてくれていたのですよ。一般人と首相がこんなに近づける機会が毎年ある国は、他にあるでしょうか。ただ、セキュリティ的に大丈夫かな？とは思いますが。

The time when Dr. Mahathir was the prime minister, he held the open house at his official residence every year. It was open to the public, and he received visitors with shaking hands one by one. I do not know any other country where the public has such opportunity every year to approach the prime minister so closely. But I wonder about PM’s security.

さて、冒頭の写真のように、今日は私の住んでいるコンドミニアムのプールサイドで、ハリラヤ・プアサ、つまり断食明けのオープンハウスをやっていました。ご覧の通り大賑わいです。

The photo on the top is the open house today held at my condominium. Is was very crowded.







自宅ではなくて会場を設営しての大掛かりなものです。どこかの会社主催になっていますが、多分、これは政治家主催のオープンハウスだと思います。このコンド、政治家関係の住民が割りと多いのですよ。

The host set up the venue at poolside instead of his house. It is said that this open house is organized by a company. But I think the host is a politician staying in this condominium. Actually there are quite a few politic related persons staying this condominium.

司会者が居て、ちょっと漫才風の進行をしていました。

私は全然関係ない部外者ですが、同じコンドの住民ということで、勝手にサテーなどを味見してきました。

Although I am total outsider, I walked around and got some Satay.

ああ、普段はこのプールサイド、こんな風に↓静かなのですよ。
