ディーパバリ Deepavali

10月17日はディーパバリ。ヒンズー教の祝日で光の祭典と言われています。

It is Deepavali on 17th October, which is the festival of Hindu, also called as Festival of Lights.

マレーシアは他民族複合国花ですから、民族宗教的祝日が多いです。インド人もいますからね。

Since Malaysia is the country with various races, festivals of each races are respected. There are many Indians here also.

この前イスラム教のハリラヤ・プアサだったのに、すぐにヒンズー教のディーパバリですよ。ショッピングセンターのディスプレー担当は大変そうです。この後クリスマスだし、年明けたら中華系の旧正月だし。

Just finished Hari Raya Aidilfitri of Islam, then here is Deepavali of Hindu. The person in charge of display in the shopping centre should be very busy. After this, Christmas is coming, then Chinese New Year.

今日はKLCCとパビリオンに行きました。この2つの商業施設にもディーパバリのお約束、コラム（Kolam）がありました。

I visited KLCC and Pavilion today. In these shopping centres, there are the Kolam, the must item of Deepavali.

冒頭の写真はKLCCのもの。よく見るとお米穀物に色を付けて絵を描いたものです。

誰かがこの上を歩いて絵が崩れてはいけないので、周りはロープが張られています。
これらは時期が過ぎると片付けられてしまうのですが、なんと勿体ない

To avoid someone walking on this and breaking, they are surrounded by rope.
They will be cleared after Deepavali. How sad it is
