黄炎木 コウエンボク Yellow Flame Tree, Copperpod Tree

LRTのTitiwangsa駅で電車待ちの間に見つけたこの木。高架のホームから写してみました。

This tree was found when I was waiting LRT train at Titiwangsa station. I took this photo from the elevated platform.

背景が退去の済んで空き家となった市営団地の建物なので、絵的には汚いですが、花は綺麗です。

The background is the vacated government flat, so this is not a nice photo. But the flower itself is very beautiful.

英語名がYellow Flame Treeと言うように、赤いFlame Tree（鳳凰木）と葉がそっくりです。これとこれ

As the name in English tell, its leaves are almost same as red flam tree. This and This

この樹皮はバティックの染料として使うらしいです。

It is said the bark extract is used as dyestuff for Batik fabrics.

Aiyah… out of focus.. But the flower looks like a orchid, isn’t it?
